Jackdaw Feathers
The scalp of the common jackdaw is excellant for hackle on spider patterns that mimic the wonderful BWO (Blue Wing Olive) and other river olives/enphemera. Specified in older & traditional patterns/dressings the natural hues capture the colouration of these river insects better than any dyed feather and added with the superb movement characteristics you get from the feathers its worth noting that some of the older solutions to fly-dressing are not to be ignored.
