Mallard Blues have been much sought after it was used to wing the famous ‘Butcher’ pattern. The shining metallic blue surface is difficult to beat to catch the eye of the angler and the spell it has over trout, salmon & sea-trout.
It was also used extensively with white tips to wing the ”Heckham” series aswell but sadly not widely known thesedays.
Called McGinty’s in the States after an Amercian pattern where they were used.
