Rodgers Fishing Tackle are small family run business based at the foothills of the Mourne Mountains in Co. Down, Northern Ireland.
Rodgers Fishing Tackle offer a wide range of fishing equipment and will gladly advise on products. With over 40 years experience of game fishing between the staff fishing mainly for brown trout, salmon, sea-trout, saltwater seatrout and Pike. We have practised and still do methods such as fly, worm, prawn/shrimp, spinner so we are more than happy aswell as able to assist in many different fields/advice.
Rodgers Fishing Tackle stock the most comprehensive range of fly-tying materials in Co, Down and probably Northern Ireland. We commercially tied for years developing an indepth & wealth of knowledge on products, material characteristics, useage & colour schemes. Coming from an angling perspective on flytying a wide range of fly patterns using unqiue Irish colour blends and materials were developed. Many specific to the locality to acquire the finest sport in fresh & saltwater in South Down and further afield in leading fisheries, competitions and anglers. Some of our flies have helped patrons catch lifetime bests in Argentina, Russia and Alaska with Pacific salmon to 44lb, Atlantics to 30lb+ and sea-trout to 24lb.
Rodgers Fishing Tackle have always prided ourselves in honesty and if it isn’t good enough for us then it should never be sold to someone else.
From tying a few flies for Dad has developed into the website today endevouring to mantain our standard of providing equipment that meets the needs & purpose of the angler and which we would be happy to fish with ourselves.
Over the years we have had the pleasure of working and learning with many great, thinking people suchs as genetic breeder David Rice, world champion Bob Church, pro-tier Bill McIlroy, leading material suppliers Wapsi and many other Gillies and Guides who have worked with us and continue to share & expand the knowledge base of products and angling.
